Synopsis
Personal Log of Sergeant Faedra Liengood
21 Pegasus, Dragon 669
I have now been on board the Osiris II for one week...
It was six months ago now that the Mooncrash occurred. For reasons we still don't adequately understand, a stream of thousands of monsters fell down from the moon to our planet, Tyrra landing on and around the capital city of Isis in the Imperial Magocracy of Circe The damage was, of course, catastrophic. Thousands of people died as the night sky rained fiends and massive damage was inflicted to Isis' buildings and infrastructure that is even now just starting to be repaired.
In response to the massive public outry that something be done to ascertain the cause of rampaging Lunatic Freaks falling from the sky en masse, and stop it, the Empress Phoebe VIII herself set out to high orbit on the Osiris IIaccompanied by elite multinational taskforce LEF (Lunar Expeditionary Force), which I am privileged to be a soldier of.
The original mission objective was to find and explore the ancient lunar base the Ancients made millenia ago during pre-cataclysm times. Having located the lunar base we have only begun to explore and attempt to discern the cause of the Mooncrash, and how it can be stopped from ever happening again...
Features
- Classic story-focused 16-bit era style JRPG.
- Challenging and demanding JRPG combat and dungeon crawling action, with all of the bells and whistles you'd expect.
- Wield plasma swords, laser rifles, and incendiary grenades alongside dichotomous Lunar and Solar magic. Swap weapons in battle for maximum efficiency, and watch your casters gain and lose new abilities with the changing phases of the moon (implemented, but not yet in play in the Mania Jam build).
- Level up, improve your gear, unlock new skills with earned SP, and master the complexities of Lunar and Solar magic as you face more and more deadly and devious foes.
- In battle, periodically and when you need it most, the blessings of the ever-watching Empress may give you the edge you need to defeat your foes, but be careful of relying on her boons too much.
- Camp, cook meals from exotic lunar ingredients, and use the shipboard science labs to craft medical supplies, potions, grenades, performance enhancing drugs, and new equipment from a wide variety of ingredients gathered from enemies and the environment (not implemented/functional in the Mania Jam build).
- Uncover the tangled, secret history of the relationship between Tyrra and its moon Lune, and the mysterious Ancients which connect them.

Extreme gratitude to the wonderful and sainted folks who actually paid money for this rather rushed teaser/hella late jam entry!
